Dr. Angus and Bruno

Dr. Angus and Bruno

From Rubik, The Amazing Cube - Dr. Angus is your standard greedy mad scientist who's not happy with just stealing diamonds. He has to clone them as well. His stash of jewels is probably equal to the gross national product of the UK, but he wants more! He speaks with the ususal undetermined evil sicentist accent - not British, not American, just evil. His assitant Bruno is an idiot, though he still offers to fix the cloning machine when it malfnctions. He's the guy that Dr. A. sends after Rubik. But Brute strength is no match for the supernatural forces at Rubik's command.

Jaws and the Sharks

Jaws and the Sharks

From Rubik and the Lucky Helmet and Saturday Night Rubik - Jaws is a bully, obviously insecue about himself because he's not too bright and wears braces. He seems to have it in for Reynaldo, who is much nicer and better-looking. He takes advantage of Reynaldo's own form of insecurity by stealing his lucky helmet hours before the big bike race which both boys have entered. He attempts similar sabotage of Reynaldo's efforts in a school dance contest wherein the two are competing for the attention of Cathy, a shallow chick who only wants to go out with whichever one of them will help her win the contest. Jaws has her convinced that Reynaldo is a complete klutz. Jaws' buddies The Sharks are even dumber than he is. They do a lot of his dirty work, but mostly stand around telling him how great he is.

Bobby Joe and Jasper

Bobby Joe and Jasper

From Back Packin' Rubik - These two bottom-feeders make most rednecks look really smart and cool. They remind me of Scooby Doo villains. Their antics have nothing directly to do with Rubik and the kids, who see something spooky going on with an unearthed coffin and can't resist the mystery. I think the term "meddling kids" might even be used by one of them at some point. Bobby Joe is the smarter of the two, coming up with the brilliant plan for stealing the coffin from the graveyard and sneaking it out of town. Jasper is a little creeped out by the whole thing, but he goes along with it when fame and fortune is promised.

Cole and Trask

Cole and Trask

From Super Power Lisa - Cole runs a big construction firm which wants the land where the children's home stands, to expand his evil, capitalist shopping mall project. He and his minion Trask fix all manner of "accidents" to try to scare the kids into leaving the home. Rubik and Lisa get involved when he gives her super powers to impress her brothers, and she averts one of the disasters, posing as her herione Power Girl. Now the orphan kids are counting on her to save their home. It's not long before Rubik and Lisa figure out that these construction thugs are behind it.

The Mysterious Man and Go-Go

The Mysterios Man and Go-Go

From Rubik and the Mysterious Man - The Mysterious Man is one of Rubik's former owners, a cold magician/ringmaster guy in a top hat who once used Rubik as a slave, making him do "evil things." Carlos and Rubik encounter him at the train yard as they make the token childhood attempt to run away from home. The Mysterios Man's evilness is so compelling as to reduce Rubik to fearful trembling and crying. Upon discovering Rubik again, he is determined to reclaim the cube as his own and make him do his bidding yet again. The Myserious man also has an Igor-like sidekick named Go-Go (how sad for him) who isn't too swift. He's a total yes-man who really doesn't do anything but say really obvious things.

Gower and Felix

Gower and Felix

From Rubik and the Pooch-Nappers these two guys like to frequent area dog shows and kidnap the smart dogs in order to train them to do their dirty work committing robberies. When Rubik helps Sparky win a local contest, he's their next target. They sick their trained rotweilers on the kids and make off with their prize-winning pooch, only to find that Sparky is not the super-mutt they thought he was. But this wo't stop them from going on with their plans to steal a fortune in gold coins.

Harry and...

Harry and nameless sailor guy

From Rubik and the Buried Treasure I think these guys are escaped convicts who have an affinity for things nautical. They seem to know the location of a treasure map which leads to a nearby desert island. When Carlos becomes key to finding the treasure, they add kidnapping to their list of misdeeds and will stop at nothing to get the treasure. And even though Rubik just appears to be a toy, the big stupid one seems to have disdain for him and decides to throw him overboard. But Rubik gets them back when the curse of the treasure comes into play later on.

Logan and Charlie

Logan and Charlie

From Honolulu Rubik - another pair of bad men, another place, another treaure and another curse. These two howlies have plans to steal a giant crystal from an ancient volcano on the same night that Rubik and kids have decied to investigate the volcano's ghost legend with their new friend Kimo. And this time the ghost is real and, at first, looks just as scary as the bad men, but later proves to be a powerful ally in helping to retrieve the stolen ancestral crystal.

Moonrock and Astro

Moonrock and Astro

From Time Machine Rubik - These bad men have cool spacey names. Everyone in the future seems to have a spacey name. I'm still looking for a copy of this episode, but the main thing I know about these futuristic crooks is that they have hatched a plan to steal the Statue of Liberty. I would guess that Moonrock is the smart one and Astro is the heavy/sidekick. My search for the missing episode continues!

Marco and Pedro

Marco and Pedro

From Rubik's First Christmas - These guys are like the Mexican version of the guys from Rubik and the Buried Treasure. They are intent on raiding an Aztec Pyramid for its treasure on Christmas Eve. When Grandma Ria's truck full of Christmas toys is stolen by a couple of joyriders, Marco and Pedro take advantage of the situation and make off with the truck. They are not particulalry malicious toward Grandma or the kids, they're just bent on getting the treasure, which - of course - is rumored to be cursed.

The Giant and his Lackeys

The Giant, Horace, and Elbee

In Rubik in Wonderland Rubik and the kids are charged with retrieving a stolen crown from a big nasty Giant that does nothing but eat. That's pretty much all giants ever do in fairy tales. Horace and Elbee are his bumbling lackeys who warn him that Rubik and his friends are on the way to retrive the crown. And the Giant, being a giant, is bent on destroying Rubik when he hears of the cube's powers which threaten his ownership of the most valuable object in the land.
